Using a basic walk cycle I’ll explain how to import your animations from Poser 6 to MotionArtist 2.0. Some may find this a tedious process; especially if you have 30+ frames but be patient, it does work.
This tutorial assumes you already know how to create your own Poser animations.
Step 1
Set your scene and animation. For this tutorial we’ll use Woody and apply the P4 Power Walk animation.

Note: In addition to applying the Power Walk, I selected FRAME 1 and changed the Z-TRAN to -10; then I selected FRAME 30 and changed the Z-TRAN back to 0. This allows Woody to walk towards to the camera.
Step 2
Now I’m ready to export my animation so I click on ANIMATION --> MAKE MOVIE.

Step 3
Click the drop-down menu next to FORMAT, select IMAGE FILES.

Choose your type of render from the drop down menu i.e. Firefly, Poser 4, etc. For this tutorial I chose Poser 4.
Step 4
Click MAKE MOVIE – Type a name for your animation (example: tutorial)
Note: I like to save my images to a new folder so they are separate from other renders.
Click SAVE
Poser will now write each frame in the animation. Since there are 30 frames to the Power Walk cycle we will have 30 images. Think of this like creating a cartoon animation one frame at a time.
Step 5
Open Motion Artist, create a new document – For this tutorial, we’ll keep the default settings so our document we’ll be 800 x 600 with a white background. For your own purposes you will want to change this to fit your needs.
Step 6
Click FILE under the PARTS PALETTE . Find the images Poser saved
Notice the images are numbered, this helps as you add pages.

Step 7
Drag and drop IMAGE 1 to the blank page.

Tip: If you want the image to be centered vertically/horizontally on the page RIGHT-CLICK the image select ALIGN . CENTER HORIZONTALLY, ALIGN . CENTER VERTICALLY

Step 8
RIGHT-CLICK on the Page List, select ADD PAGE

Step 9
Drag and drop the next image to the blank page.

Step 10
RIGHT-CLICK on the Page List, select ADD PAGE
Step 11
Repeat steps 9 and 10 until all images have been added
Step 12
RIGHT-CLICK Page 1, select PROPERTIES

UNCHECK the box next to AUTO
In the FRAMES box type 1

This will give us the quick, fluid motion we want for our animation.
Step 13
Repeat Step 12 for each page
Step 14
At this point click PREVIEW MOVIE to be sure everything is like you want. If so, then click the CREATE SWF button and save your movie.
