Integrating MotionArtist SWF files with Yahoo SiteBuilderFor use with MotionArtist 2-4Yahoo SiteBuilder is a popular Web creation tool- here's how to use MotionArtist SWFs to add a little flash to your Yahoo sites! MotionArtist allows you to add excitement to your Web pages by embedding animated SWF files- including these files in a project created in Yahoo SiteBuilder is easy, once you know the process. The first thing to do is to use MotionArtist to create the animated file. Set up your MotionArtist project and save it as a MotionArtist project file (with the FMD extension.) Be sure, in the Document Properties (or Publishing Settings, in MotionArtist 4) that the HTML Output option is selected. Now, with that project open, choose File>Create SWF. Be sure not to include any spaces in your SWF file name- instead, use the hyphen ('-') or underscore ('_') to separate words if needed. Save the file somewhere you'll be able to locate it easily. Now, hide MotionArtist and verify that the SWF and its accompanying HTML were saved in the right place. Launch Yahoo SiteBuilder- - and use its tools to assemble your page in the usual manner. When you're ready to bring in the SWF file, use SiteBuilder's Insert tool to bring up the Insert dialog- - and choose Code Elements, selecting HTML from the available options. Click Insert; SiteBuilder will create a new HTML object in your page. Now, hide SiteBuilder and locate the HTML file that MotionArtist created when it saved the SWF file, and open it in a text editor- not a word processor, just a simple text editing program. Note the references to the SWF file you saved, as well as the codes that control parameters such as window size, background transparency, looping etc. Select all the HTML code in between (but not including) the 'BODY' tags, as shown- - and copy it to the Clipboard. Now, go back into SiteBuilder and (if necessary) click the HTML button in the middle of the HTML object you just created. When the dialog opens (if it wasn't open already) paste the copied HTML code into it. Click OK. The HTML item should update and look something like this- - and you can then finish your site, upload it and the SWF file (uploading the SWF to the same directory as your page is essential, so that your new page can 'find' it when it's opened in a browser) and you should be all set!
