Creating a new Photo Album Template using Existing Templates

By this process you can create a new look and feel by modifying existing templates.

1- Start by opening an existing template from the MotionArtist wizard folder located under the program files folder:

C:/program files/e frontier/motionartist 4/wizard/album01

2- Choose from one of the existing *.FMT photo album templates in this directory making sure to have "all files" in the browser window previously selected.

3- Once the template is open you can start modifying and changing every element in each page according to your design style and create a completely new layout,

You will see that the template contains 3 pages, first page is the Loading Page, the second is the Index Page and the third correspond to the Picture Page

The Loading Page

This Page serves as a loading page.

The loading bar you can stretch, enlarge and change the fill and outline color and width to your desire.

If there is a movie clip you can modify it, repeat it by copy and pasting it or delete it and create a new one.

The progressive text displayed with a number 100 or any other text element can be easily modified by double clicking on it and change its font style, color and size in the dialogue box.

You can also select a different color or image for your background.

The Index Page

This page displays all the images you selected to load in your photo album in form of a sequence, The first thumbnail corresponds to the first image you loaded which will be at the top layer and therefore. It's important to keep this in mind and organize your layers correctly that way the images will load in the correct order.

In this page you can change the background color or load an image as a background (see tutorial of how to add new backgrounds to your wizard folder). You can also change the thumbnails animation settings, add, delete or modify any clipart and change your fonts color, position, size and style to best fit your design. You can also choose how many thumbnails to display in this page and MotionArtist will create the pages according to the amount of images you choose for your photo album.

There is also a text function that displays the exact amount of pictures loaded, you can edit it and change the font style, color and size to match your design.

The navigation bar consist of three graphic elements which can be a simple graphic element created with the MotionArtist tool bar, an imported image from the parts library, one you created (png, bmp or jpg) or a movie clip. Make sure that they are named properly in the object property window:

Prev: will take you to the previous page

Next: will take you to the next page

Top: will take you to the first thumbnail or index page

The Picture Page

Here you will design how you want your picture to display. It consist of a picture frame name pic in the object properties dialogue box. You can modify or select a new effect for your picture to appear on screen by right clicking over the object on the page and selecting animation settings, by double clicking the object layer in the timeline or

Modifying Clips: You can modify the clips by changing the animation settings, the frame length in the timeline, colors or simply create new ones.

Modifying background: You can select a new background color or image by just right clicking in the page background and selecting modify background to change the color or load an image.
