Creating a new Website Template using Existing Templates For MotionArtist 4 Create your website template! Creating a new Website Template using Existing Templates This tutorial will help you create a new look and feel by modifying existing templates. 1- Start by opening an existing template from the MotionArtist wizard folder located under the program files folder: C:/program files/e frontier/motionartist 4/wizard/02web 2- Choose from one of the existing *.FMT websites templates in this directory making sure to have "all files" in the browser window previously selected. 3- Once the template is open you can start modifying and changing every element in each page according to your design style and create a completely new layout, You will see that the template contains 6 pages, first page is the Loading Page, the second is the Index Page or Home Page and the other three correspond to the different content pages The Loading Page This Page serves as a loading page. The loading bar you can stretch, enlarge and change the fill and outline color and width to your desire. If there is a movie clip you can modify it, repeat it by copy and pasting it or delete it and create a new one. The progressive text displayed with a number 100 or any other text element can be easily modified by double clicking on it and change its font style, color and size in the dialogue box. You can also select a different color or image for your background. The Index or Home Page This is your main page that links to all your other content pages. Once the template is saved and the user opens it up he will be asked to enter the name for the six different categories including the name of the website, the 4 main links and the company's name. The functionality and all the coding was previously created for you in the template so all you have to do is to change the look and feel of all or a few graphic and text elements the way you like the best. The buttons have a rollover effect so you might want to create different states for each one of them. In this page you can change the background color or load an image as a background. You can also change the thumbnails animation settings, add, delete or modify any clipart and change your fonts color, position, size and style to best fit your design. You can also choose. The menu bar consist of four buttons and a text. Each can be a simple graphic element created with the MotionArtist tool bar, an imported image from the parts library, one you created (png, bmp or jpg) or a clip. Make sure that the text for each category remain named properly in the object property window and under the item tab as well as the variable tab. It is very important that you do not change any of the presets or your template wont work properly. The Content Page Here you will have four different content pages and again you can modify each graphic and text element according to your design style. The content page consist of a main frame where you can place information, pictures, links and or a clips. With a few changes you can now completely change the look and make your own costum pages in minutes. Make sure to save your new template in the same directory of your wizard folder in order to work properly. Have fun! Modifying Clips: You can modify the clips by changing the animation settings, the frame length in the timeline, colors or simply create new ones Modifying background: you can select a new background color or image by just right clicking in the page background and selecting modify background to change color or load background to load an image.
